These exist to ensure the research carried out here is of the highest quality, and to make sure that it is done safely and correctly. These agencies are also authorities with regards to how scientific findings are utilised in bills and legislation, as well as being an authority to many scientific institutions.

Department of Conservation

Education Review Office

The government department which reports publicly on the quality of education in all New Zealand schools and early childhood centres, including private schools, kura kaupapa Maori and kohanga reo.  ERO’s reports are used by parents, teachers, early childhood education managers, school principals and trustees, and by government policy makers.
